Symptoms of anxiety
When you are anxious you may feel as if you are in possible danger, and this will activate your fight-or-flight responses (when your body goes into a state of high alert, ready to fight or get away fast.)
Symptoms may include:
- Your heart beating faster
- Feelings of tension and restlessness
- More rapid breathing
- Difficulty sleeping
- Eating more or less than usual, drinking, smoking and/or drugs.
Treating anxiety
